THE SECOND EDITION
"...I think that people have
to limit the things that can change just to stay sane and keep from overloading
although I think that I agree in principal that change is ok...."

It's not like you can control change. Change is reality, it happens.
Change is not good or bad it simply is. What is good or bad about
change is how you live and work with it.
I think that you have taken a big first
step in simply admitting that it is"ok", however the fun starts when you
stop thinking about it as an unusual event and integrate it into your life
very much like you have to integrate [I hope] the fact of breatihg...you
just do it, if you had to think about every time to took a breath chances
are you wouldn't be here to wonder about it.
Change IS one definition for the nature
of all life. Sorry I can't resist this...I'd be interested to know
how your can "limit the things that can change" in your life.

"Architecture
is Art, so for you to call any special kind of Architectural design "Art"
is redundant..."

Yeah and so is cooking and mowing your lawn and skating. However
you point out a short coming in the Art Environments page that will be
addressed soon, I thank you.
First of all, Art Environments is not
about creating Art it is about creating an environment that is sympathetic
to particular art... the art that belongs to our clients.
The difference in Art Environments is the clients that we are interested
in and would be interested in us. These clients have a significant
objective as well as subjective commitment to Art. The Art belonging
to or anticipated by our clients becomes one of the fundamental purposes
of the environments we create. In other words it becomes a dominant
part of the program for the design of the environment. Rather than
treat Art as a secondary element or as decoration we treat it as a structural
element in the environment.
Now the question about Architecture
[or
photography, or anything else you choose] being Art...This is a question
often and heatedly debated in the art circles. There are as many
definitions as their are artists and almost as many as there are people.
You have to satisfy yourself for now
on this one, however I have a couple of questions for you: If Architecture
is Art and cooking is Art what isn't Art? What is the difference
between creating a painting and creating a building? is there
a difference? [Presuming you can come up with something
that you are willing to eliminate from your definition of Art] Is there
a difference in the process of creating Art and creating something that
isn't Art? Is there a difference in how you appreciate Art and how
you appreciate something that isn't Art? Does it really matter whether
we call something Art or not?
From the point of view of someone who
does both Art [see now you know for sure that I don't think that Architecture
is Art] and Architecture there are vast differences in the process,
the purpose, and the result... and those differences really matter in how
well I do either one. There are similarities but there are also similarities
between steel and carrots but we don't call steel food.
More on this one later...

"Where do you get off saying
that if you have "success without change" you have a crisis?? I have
worked hard to build ....... to be able to make money without having to
work hard, in fact I'm making a hell of lot of money right now without
having to do anything."

I'll bet you were [or will be] happy to receive your invitation
to join AARP and not do anything more with your life! [Sorry,
I couldn't resist] That's OK if it is really what you want.
The Crisis is that if you expect your
business to continue to be successful [and if you still look forward
to something other than driving your RV across Kansas] then you had
better look around you because even as we speak the World is changing.
The crisis is that your business is without a leader, you are missing opportunities,
and you have chosen to be static in a very dynamic world. [But
it is only a crisis if you expect something more]
Very few people win the lottery, most
have to work very hard, continually exercise there best judgment, and look
as far into the future of their industry as they can just to stay even.
Coasting is ok for you if you choose it but it is a crisis if you think
that things won't change. Crisis Intervention Management is for those
organizations that want to continue to improve NOT for those who WANT to
retire.
